'Directions' (Composition, Score & Design) by Will Parker & Rob Lowe
'Directions' is an indeterminate graphic score generator. Comprised of 26 (A-Z) square cards with four possible orientations. Time is the only set parameter, the others are abstract - have no traditional musical references or fixed figurative meaning.
Designed as a type of Rorschach test where performers will add their own dimensions, axis and reference points. The form and material must be shaped and negotiated in the moment; complex interactions guided by the Gestalt principals of: proximity, similarity, symmetry, continuation and closure.

2020 was a good year for derivative works of Half Life, with the Self Aware AI streams and this thing I stumbled across days ago which I hadn't realised existed until this year (as of the time of posting the review). The best thing is that the recordings keep the lower audio quality as a consequence of the game engine lowering the bitrates of samples. Cone
